The one George gave you is also a copy of the original; your government needs to hold the original that was signed at La Paz; it should never have been brought home to America

The Librarian at the National Archives in DC said that it isn’t with her do it must be with the Library of Congress which is not where it belongs

This was a big mystery for her that left her very uncomfortable

She told me with her mouth that International Law requires 2 originals meaning the treaty had to be written twice and signed twice in the language of both countries ... we were to bring ours home and file it with the library of Congress and leave yours with you guys

Instead, we brought them both home and your country has never had an original in its possession.
